Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly
I want to sing country. Is that weird? It gives me something to do anyway, until I get bored. It would be better if I could play guitar better than I do now, but oh well.
(For reference, when I say country, I refer to bluegrass, folk, roots and traditional music, influenced by a good dollop of jazz and blues).
(I know I didn't need to add that last bracket sentence, but I think the term 'country' is a little simplistic, and I always get the feeling that people look down upon it, thus finding it necessary to justify myself when I talk about liking it, which I do, I like it lots, except for songs like 'Sunny side' which are saccharine sweet and make me cringe a little, or laugh).
